Every smile we create at Shuswap Denture Centre is built on a foundation of world class
mentorship and a lifelong passion for dental technology. Stephen McOrmond’s journey into the
world of denturism began in the lab of his father, Al McOrmond a renowned Professor at
George Brown College and the University of Toronto, an acclaimed author of dental textbooks, and a pioneer in the field.
Growing up under his father’s guidance, Stephen learned that crafting dentures is not just a
clinical procedure; it is a meticulous art form. After graduating with an Advanced Degree in Denturism in 2013 and completing a nationwide residency that led him to the beautiful British Columbia coast, Stephen brought this legacy of excellence to Salmon Arm.

and Instructor for Nine Miles of Smiles (NMS), a Canadian registered charity. This non-profit
organization provides free, essential dental care to marginalized and underserviced
communities in Jamaica. By sharing our expertise in remote villages, we strive to increase
access to oral health resources on a global scale.

dedicated to providing essential dental care to marginalized communities in Jamaica. Since its
inception in 2006, NMS has focused on bridging the gap in healthcare access, traveling from
vibrant cities to the most remote, isolated villages to restore oral health where it is needed most.

Our own Stephen McOrmond doesn’t just participate; he leads. As a
Denturist, Instructor, and Team Leader, Stephen oversees clinical operations in the field. He
shares his advanced technical knowledge with local volunteers and international teams,
ensuring that every patient receives professional-grade care, regardless of their location.
